Why We Built PDF Tools
Every time you want to merge a few PDFs, save a Word doc as PDF, or pull out a page as an image, the tools that show up on Google tend to fall into one of two camps:
- Sign up required — and you have to subscribe just to access the core features
- No sign-up — but your file gets uploaded to some mystery server, and suddenly your personal data, contracts, or invoices are out there in the wind
We wanted to build something straightforward, no-nonsense, and respectful of your files — and that's how PDF Tools came to be.
What You Can Do Right Now
Export from PDF
- PDF to Word — Editable .docx with preserved formatting
- PDF to JPG — One JPG per page, with 72 / 150 / 300 DPI options
- PDF to Text — Extract plain text as a UTF-8 .txt file
Convert to PDF
- JPG to PDF — Combine multiple images into a single PDF
- Word to PDF — Supports .docx / .doc / .odt / .rtf
Organize PDFs
- Merge PDF — Combine multiple PDFs in any order you choose
- Compress PDF — Three compression levels to balance quality and file size
- Rotate PDF — 90° / 180° / 270°
- Split PDF — Split by page range or extract every page individually
Everything is free and unlimited, with a daily limit of 5 uses per tool (IP-based — more than enough for everyday personal use).
Our Privacy Commitment
- Uploaded files are stored in a private server directory — not publicly accessible (downloads are handled via signed URLs)
- Files are automatically deleted after 2 hours — including temporary images, converted output, and any intermediate files
- No account required, and no ad-tracking cookies are planted (unless you choose to accept them)
- All processing happens on our own servers — no third-party APIs involved (LibreOffice, Ghostscript, and Poppler all run locally)
