What We Do

PDF Tools (pdf-vert.com) offers 9 free online PDF tools: PDF ↔ Word conversion, PDF ↔ JPG conversion, PDF to plain text, merge, compress, rotate, and split. Just open it in your browser — no software to download, no account required, and available in 9 languages.

Who's Behind This

This site was built and is maintained by Roamer Tech, a small web studio based in Taiwan, launched in 2026. We're a small team, and our motivation was simple: every time we needed to convert a PDF, we'd get hit with "sign up first," "2 conversions per day," or watermarked output. So we built a version without any of that.

How Your Files Are Handled

All conversions are processed on our own servers using mature, open-source engines — LibreOffice, Ghostscript, Poppler, and others. Your files are never sent to any third-party API. Uploaded and output files are stored in private directories that are not publicly accessible. Download links are signed and time-limited, and all files are automatically deleted after two hours by a scheduled job.

Our Commitments

  • Privacy first: Uploaded files are automatically deleted after 2 hours. We don't retain files or analyze their contents.
  • Free tier that's actually useful: Core features are free forever — no watermarks, no forced sign-up.
  • Clean interface: No pop-ups, no dark patterns, no fake buttons. Tracking cookies are off by default and only enabled with your consent.
  • No hidden limits: Limits are shown right next to the upload box (25 MB per file, 5 uses per tool per day). We won't ask you to pay after you've already uploaded.

Why Is It Free?

Servers and conversion engines cost money, so we'll be upfront: the free tier is supported by ads on the page. We plan to offer a Pro plan — ad-free with higher usage limits — for power users down the road. What we won't do is sell your data. Your files and usage history are not a product. Ads appear only on general content pages and are never targeted based on the files you upload.
